Our flat-pack Corten steel planters are the perfect combination of form and function. Made in New Zealand from architectural-grade weathering steel, they’re designed to develop a rich, rust-like patina over time — adding warmth, texture, and a timeless beauty to any outdoor space.

Key Features

  • Made from 16 gauge (1.60 mm) Corten steel — built to last decades outdoors

  • Flat-pack design — easy to transport, under 10 minutes to assemble.

  • Minimalist  — clean lines and strong structure

  • Sustainable & NZ-made — locally manufactured with low-impact shipping

  • Assembly — Pre-lasercut holes, includes stainless steel bolts & nuts

  • Use — Suitable for residential and commercial outdoor use

Why Corten Steel?

Corten (weathering) steel is specially formulated to resist corrosion and surface damage. As it weathers, it forms a protective oxide layer that prevents further rusting — giving your garden a warm, rustic look without sacrificing durability.

All corten steel planters are supplied raw with no patina. The patina will develop over time.

All sizes can be ordered with or without the baseplate.

  • The baseplate allows for more versatile positioning options where it is beneficial for the bottom of the planter to be enclosed such as a patio or deck.
  • Without the baseplate is best if the planter is going to be installed in an existing garden where the plants would benefit from being able to reach their roots into the soil below the planter.

Assembly

  • Unpack the kit.
  • Connect a short side to a long side using bolts & nuts.
  • Leave all nuts slightly loose.
  • When three sides are connected, slide in the baseplate (if you chose to have one).
  • Connect the fourth side in the same manner.
  • Tighten all the nuts.
  • Fill & plant your new planter and enjoy!

What is the warranty on these?

Our kiktset planters come with a 5 year warranty and covers any manufacturing defect.

How long does it take for patina to develop and will it stain my driveway or paving?

Patina starts developing in the first week of install. It's rate is faster in Autumn and winters. The development slows down in drier months.

The leeching causes stains and we recommend some gap between concrete and any corten product.
